PISTONS GT WINS INAUGURAL NBA2KL 3V3 CHAMPIONSHIP – European Gaming Industry News

In front of an electric crowd in downtown Indianapolis at the Pavilion at Pan Am, Pistons GT– the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons – was crowned as the first-ever NBA 2K League 3v3 Champion after defeating Wizards District Gaming.  Pistons GT’s 4-0 series sweep marks the franchise’s first-ever NBA 2K League championship.   Pistons GT defeated Lakers Gaming and Rim Runners in the NBA2KL 3v3 Championships quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

 

Center Ramo “Ramo” Radoncic was named the 2022 NBA2KL 3v3 Finals MVP after averaging 8.5 points and 4.5 rebounds throughout the Finals (games played to 21).  Point guard Anthony “Ant SZN” Costanzo added 9.2 points and 4.5 assists.

 

The NBA2KL 3v3 Championships featured a $610,000 total cash prize pool.  See below for more information:

First place – $250,000
Second place – $100,000
Third and fourth place – $50,000
Fifth through eighth place – $25,000
Ninth through fourteenth place – $10,000

The 2022 NBA2KL 3v3 Championships tipped off Wednesday, Aug. 17 and culminated with the NBA2KL 3v3 Finals on Saturday, Aug. 20.  The Championships featured 12 NBA 2K League teams and two amateur teams that qualified based on their performance in the Coinbase BLACKTOP SERIES during the season.  Games were simulcast live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels, and were also available on Dash Radio, ESRevolution, Loco in India, Sport1 in Europe and SPS.  Portions of the 3v3 Finals were available on NBA TV, Stadium and B/R Gaming’s YouTube channel.

 

Competitions continue with the NBA2KL 5v5 Championships Wednesday, Aug. 24 – Saturday, Aug. 27 at the Pavilion at Pan Am in downtown Indianapolis.  Teams will include 76ers GC, Bucks Gaming, Gen.G Tigers of Shanghai, Heat Check Gaming, Jazz Gaming, Knicks Gaming, Lakers Gaming, Magic Gaming, Mavs Gaming, T-Wolves Gaming, Warriors Gaming Squad and Wizards District Gaming.  See below for game times:

 

Wednesday, Aug. 24 – 5 p.m. ET

Thursday, Aug. 25 – 5 p.m. ET

Friday, Aug. 26 – 7 p.m. ET

Saturday, Aug. 27 – 3 p.m. ET
